Video: Ivo Konc on the 30th anniversary of the spruce resin ointment, 2020

Ivo Konc, who in 1990 created the first spruce resin ointment, is as fit as a young man at the age of 71. In the video marking the 30th anniversary (next year) of the Smrekovit Klasik spruce ointment, he explains how he personally uses Smrekovit products. He also demonstrates his flexibility — still managing a handstand, a full split, lifting his leg two meters high, and jumping over five steps. All that just “with the ointment…” as he concludes with a smile.

“In the beginning, I made only the spruce resin ointment Smrekovit Klasik, and I’ve been using it ever since.”

“At the age of 71, without ever doing any flexibility exercises, I notice that my joints are optimally flexible — just like in my twenties or thirties — they are pain-free, my muscles are supple, and I’ve maintained my agility, as you can see in these clips.”

Due to severe back problems, a specialist gave him only two options: surgery or a wheelchair by the age of 30. Through a folk healer named “Prežla” from Lesce in the Gorenjska region, he discovered the remarkable effectiveness of spruce resin and in 1990 developed the first Smrekovit ointment, Smrekovit Klasik… yet the development did not stop there.

“Then I started making a spruce resin tincture, and I found it very good because it dried quickly and wasn’t greasy. I applied it to my meniscus twice a day and healed it within three months.”

Then my son, Matic Konc, created the Smrekovit 365 spruce cream and the Smrekovit Ekstra cooling spruce cream (in a tube). Nowadays, I mainly use Smrekovit 365 because it absorbs nicely. When needed, I use the Smrekovit compress, which is more intensive. In this way, I eliminate any pain whenever it appears.

I also use Smrekovit Capsules for my stomach. I’ve had stomach problems since my youth — even as a teenager, I struggled with acidity. Every day I take at least two Smrekovit capsules and have no stomach issues at all. If my throat starts to hurt, I spray it with Smrekovit Oral Spray, and it gets better quickly.

Next year will mark 30 years since we started making the spruce resin ointment Smrekovit Klasik. Until now, I’ve explained to people — based on my observations and experience — what they can achieve with Smrekovit products: a pain-free life, flexible joints, and supple muscles.
