Spruce resin – where the Smrekovit story began

Spruce resin is a natural substance that spruce trees release when their tissue is damaged. For Smrekovit products, we use resin that has already been released and collect it by hand without intentionally damaging the trees.

From collection in the forest to the finished product, the resin goes through several processing and production steps. We show this journey in the short documentary film From resin to product.

And boswellia? Smrekovit 365 Alter is a special formulation with boswellia resin and does not contain spruce resin.

From the first spruce ointment to today's Smrekovit

The Smrekovit story began with Ivo Konc and the development of the first spruce ointment. Over the decades, new products and different forms of use developed from the original formulation.

Today, the second generation continues the development of Smrekovit products. Alongside new formulations, in-house production and spruce resin as the central raw material in most Smrekovit products remain important.
