Smrekovit cream (365, 365 Extra, or Alter) absorbs quickly, is non-greasy, and is suitable for everyday use on the skin. All products contain spruce resin as the main active ingredient.

What is the difference between Smrekovit Extra, Smrekovit 365 Extra, Smrekovit Klasik, and Smrekovit 365?

Smrekovit Extra (ointment) and Smrekovit 365 Extra (cream) contain camphor and menthol, which cause a cooling or warming sensation - depending on the individual. This effect is only superficial, as it does not cool the skin, but it may slightly relieve pain. Smrekovit Klasik (ointment) and Smrekovit 365 (cream) do not have these additives and therefore do not cause a cooling sensation, but they contain the same proportion of pine resin and are therefore equally effective. The difference between the products is therefore only in the feel - choose the Extra version if you like the cooling effect, the Classic version otherwise. We do not recommend the Extra products together with the Sprukovit liner.

How to use Smrekovit Klasik ointment or Smrekovit 365 together with the Smrekovit compress?

The Smrekovit compress enhances the effect of spruce resin by allowing long-lasting and even absorption of the ointment or cream into the tissue. It is recommended for use with Smrekovit 365 spruce resin cream or Smrekovit Klasik spruce resin ointment. Do not use the compress with Smrekovit Extra and 365 Extra products due to possible skin irritation (caused by camphor and menthol).

Why does spruce resin work completely differently from ice or cooling?

Cooling with ice slows down the body’s natural inflammatory response and thus prolongs the healing process. Spruce resin, on the other hand, works in the opposite way: it stimulates the activity of immune cells at the site of injury or inflammation and shortens the regeneration time. Therefore, the use of ice is not recommended together with Smrekovit products.

How to make traditional spruce resin ointment yourself?

You can make traditional spruce resin ointment from butter and spruce resin. Heat the butter and resin over a flame or an alcohol burner, then pour the mixture through gauze or another fabric into a small container. The ointment is useful for treating wounds and injuries in nature when Smrekovit Klasik or Smrekovit 365 are not available.

VEGAN certificate

100% of the ingredients in Smrekovit products are of natural origin, and almost all are plant-based (except for beeswax). Therefore, Smrekovit products without beeswax (spruce resin creams and the spruce resin oral spray) also carry the VEGAN certificate, which ensures that no ingredient in Smrekovit products has been tested on animals or obtained through animal exploitation, and that all ingredients in certified products are of plant origin.
